Welcome to DavidCallow.co.uk
I am a freelance illustrator specialising in fine representational drawing and the construction
of ornate hand-made paper assemblage.
I enjoy exploring the themes of sensuality and discovery in the work I produce, often through the depiction of timeless cinematic instances.

Since January of 2010, I have been involved in the founding of OPEN .  An independently organised studio space encouraging the development of entrepreneurial creative principles.
I'm also a regular VT lecturer for the BA Illustration course at the AUCB.

Based on a study of myth and the literature of Joseph Campbell
The focus of this piece is the correlation between the fall Medusa and the decline of the female deity in the mythology of the ancient world. Serpent & hawk forms are a reference to the rebirth concept questioned at the dawn of reason.
