My name is David and I am a Graphic Artist. I specialise in the combination of drawing, painting and digital techniques to produce highly refined illustrations. Since I began working in the industry in 2007, I have had the pleasure of working for a diverse array of clients in editorial, publishing, point of sale, advertising and fashion sectors. A select array of which are listed below...
Warner/Parlophone, Ralph Lauren, Christian Fischbacher, MadeBySix, Allianz Global Investors, BurdaYukom, Woolley Pau,
Dorling Kindersley, Gestalten, ESPN, YCN, Computer Arts.
As a picture maker, my job is to harness that essential detail which is most important. This means Isolating an impression that I think really resonates, and discovering a way in which it can be best emphasised. Working with traditional media allows me to capture attention of the viewer on a uniquely personal level where I think impressions tend to stick.
Aside from working on commissions and personal projects, I've also had experience as a visiting lecturer on degree level Illustration courses for major universities here in the UK, my most regular employer being the Arts University at Bournemouth (AUB), working exclusively alongside senior lecturer Sharon Beeden on three key areas of practice: Interpretation of text, Narrative, convergent technologies and professional contexts.
